This Layout

Can I use this Layout?

The layout for this website was hoof-coded from the ground up in Mousepad, without using any AI-sloppa tools or anything else, and was inspired by a few old blog-style webpages from ~15 years ago or so. In case you want to use it to make your own webpage; you can download the development files (which includes a backup of this webpage as well as a few earlier revisions.) and make your own website with it; no crediting required! Use it to make something cool and poniponi to your heart's content.

As an aside, you will need a good understanding of HTML and CSS to work with the files you get; there are a few links at the bottom of this page to help you get started. In addition, this code is the work of a single anon in his brony hovel; and as such there's no guarantee to the internal quality of the code.

  • bthfdgvu.zip
  • Complete site backup, with layout fixes. Use this to edit and submit features you think'd be good, or as a base for your own site.
  • vcdfrzdb.zip
  • Old buggy files, without layout fixes. Use this if you want a lean base to tinker with.

Some links and other paraphernalia which anons could find useful:

x-Fagging:

Writefagging:

  • /create/ Resource Bin
  • A catalog of resources for writefags, artfags, musicfags, and more. Seriously, go browse it and you'll find something which will help you.
  • Ezn's Guide
  • A guide to writing fanfiction, through the lens of MLP:FiM.

Artfagging:

  • /mlp/ drawfag improvemnt
  • A very high effort guide created by an anon; it serves as essentially a full art course geared towards ponies.
  • How to Draw: An /ic/ Guide
  • A list of books compiled by the anons over in /ic/, which will take you from total beginner to a competent artist. I highly recommend both Keys to Drawing by Bert Dodson, as well as the whole corpus of Andrew Loomis.
  • Ctrl+Paint
  • A complete guide to digital painting; it serves to teach everything from the basics of illustration, how to navigage photoshop, color theory; to creating the paintings that you wish you could.
  • Mares.horse
  • A treasure trove of MLP references. Use in combination with a book like Keys to Drawing to get a quick start making pony art.
  • Anime Study Guide
  • An /ic/ guide to getting better at drawing and copying anime. A little on the overwhelming side, however the best thing it teaches is the philosophy of copying a master to improve your own art (Despite what twitter/tumblrina artists say, the only way to get better is to copy someone better than you; whether that be a still from the show, a reference, or real life).

(As an aside, I wanna warn against doing DrawaBox, since it gets shilled alot. It will teach you things like line confidence, sure; but only after murdering your passion for doing art. Seriously, don't do it man)

Tulpafagging:

For about a decade now, talk of tulpamancy has been banned on /mlp/, despite it having been an integral part of the early fandom. Any posts talking about tulpas were banished to the abyss of /x/. /x/, however; is full of schizos who murder any real productive discussion; and because of that there's no real place for tulpas anywhere on 4chan. Due to that, I see fit to give a list of resources for anons who have the will and discipline to have their pony waifu; beyond the reach of the jannies.

  • Kiahdaj's Absolute Guide
  • A classic guide written by a namefagging anon; it gives a thorough explanation of what goes into creating a tulpa; the rewards, and how not to mess it up.
  • Abvieon's All in One Guide
  • Another classic guide which focuses a little more of the how and why tulpamancy works. Despite that; it's still a complete guide to the process.
  • Tulpa.info forums
  • A forum which formed during the scruffening as a place to discuss tulpas. It serves as the de-facto place for tulpa resources and discussion online. (Note: Despite the early seed of users being refugees from /mlp/, the site slowly became normiefied over the years, which should be kept in mind). The community guides serves as a good jumping-in point.
